June

So far June has been filled with Church picnics, The Jefferies coming to visit, pool time, and get togethers with friends. Max has a new found love of moon bounces, Molly loves the pool and splash park, and Damon and I enjoyed hanging out with friends at Downs after Dark. Sara and the kids were in town and we were busy all week with activities as well as Max getting croup, Harper having a virus, and Graham getting an ear infection. Glad to say everyone is well now, and we look forward to our trip to Chicago and New Mexico in July!

Mad Max!

Max is officially in his big boy bed. He finally figured out how to climb out of his crib. I freaked out and had pops come over to convert the crib into a toddler bed. I was a little worried at first that he would roll out of bed in the middle of the night, or get up and play. He loves his new bed and has no problem going right to sleep. I put a gate outside his door to at least keep him in his room. In the morning he gets up and stands at the door and waits for me, or grabs a book and reads.
Max is also loving the pool, splash park, sprinkler...anything with water. The kid doesn't stop....EVER!! That's probably why he sleeps so well.

Swingset, sprinkler and sorbet!

The past few weeks have been filled with walks to the playground, Graeter's ice cream, playing in the sprinkler, swinging in the backyard, and playdates. We recently purchased 2 new double strollers. A double umbrella stroller and a double jogging stroller. They are both side by side strollers and we are quickly learning that Molly likes to annoy her big brother by constantly touching him. Max hates it, but little Molly does not understand what she is doing wrong. We know that this is just the beginning! Molly is trying to roll everywhere and Max is talking up a storm, even singing songs. He is obsessed with the movie Cars and we watch it all the time. We are looking forward to the pool opening up, a new deck being built, cookouts with friends, more playdates, and traveling this summer.

Derby Festivities!!

The past 2 weeks have been filled with lots of Derby festivities going on in Louisville. While we were not able to do many, we still were able to enjoy a few. Thunder over Louisville kicked off the start of Derby, so we took the kids to watch the air show. Max loved it, especially since Grandpa Bernie and Uncle Joel joined us. The week leading up to Derby Max got sick with Hand, Foot, Mouth virus. Fever, rash, sore throat, blisters in his mouth, arms, hands, feet. Molly was next on Tuesday, and I followed quickly behind her. I was miserable, so I could only imagine how the kids felt!
The weather was nasty Derby day, however the rain stopped long enough for Damon and I to walk into the track and the sun was shining when we left. We were fortunate enough to have covered seats, so we did not get rained on all day. We had a great day with family and 2 of our friends, Austin and Tara. Grandpa Bernie and Grandma Lee were nice enough to watch Max and Molly the whole day.
Max is talking up a storm, saying more words every week. We can't wait for him to start forming sentences. He loves cars, firetrucks, ambulances, basically anything that has a siren. His favorite thing to do right now is to swing on his swing set, color, slide at the playground and to walk to Graeters for ice cream.
Molly is jabbering all day long, trying to sit on her own, eats like a pig and loves watching her big brother play. They are both growing up too fast!
