Max's 2nd Birthday Party!

This past Saturday we celebrated Max's 2nd birthday at our house. We had to change the location of the party from Pump it Up to our house, since Max has a broken nose and stitches. The Docter didn't think it was a good idea to have Max jumping in a moonbounce and we agreed. The weather was decent, sunny and warm with low humidity. Two waterslides, a pinata, pizza, cupcakes, ice cream, family and friends made this day great! Max's buddy Truman couldn't wait to eat a cupcake, so he sang happy birthday to himself and then dove into the chocolate icing. It was hilarious! At one point during the party Max was sitting at the picnic table high fiving all the girls. He is a ladies man. The next morning he got to open his gifts and let's just say he has enough cars and trains to entertain him for a long time.

Our trip to Chicago, New Mexico and the ER

4th of July weekend we packed up the car and headed north to Chicago for a week of fireworks, sightseeing and hanging out with Damon. A few weeks later Molly had her first plane ride to New Mexico. We went to visit Uncle Hunter in Santa Fe, where he is doing an internship at the Santa Fe Opera. Max was great on the way there, but threw a huge temper tantrum on the flight back. The passengers hated us. We saw lots of cool things in Santa Fe and ate tons of guacamole and drank lots of margaritas. A week later Max took his first trip to the emergency room. Apparently he was running with a small metal trashcan, tripped and fell into the edge of the can. He fractured the cartlidge in his nose and had to get 20 plus stitches underneath. He was tough and came home and ate hummus and ice cream. Luckily the nose will heal itself and the cut won't scar. This is probably the first of many ER visits with Mad Max!
